In the photo above, we can observe individual, spectacular stages of growth of the entire colony Borowik. From baby to adult fruit.

Boletus reticulatus, this noble mushroom is one of the first noble edible mushrooms, which very often appears in early spring if it is warm enough. This year's spring in Poland was exceptionally cold, and the summer was not rich in rainfall, hence the outbreak of these mushrooms can only be observed in July.

The cap of this boletus in a young fruiting body is initially hemispherical, then it becomes convex, and finally cushions or even flat. The edges of the hat are often white, while the entire hat is light brown, greyish brown. The surface of the hat is suede, often wrinkled and dull. The hat can reach a diameter of up to 20 cm.

The pores of the hat are fine and round. They can change their color from white to gray and even slightly pink.

The tubes are similar in color to the pores, from white to even pink, in older fruiting bodies they can turn red.

The leg is pale gray or light brown in color. In a young fruiting body it has a barrel shape, later becoming cylindrical. Sometimes it is cracked and delaminates to form large scales. The surface of the leg is covered with a characteristic cream, sometimes whitish mesh, which gives the mushroom its name - Boletus reticulatus.

The flesh has a pleasant mushroom and nutty flavor and a delicate mushroom aroma. In young fruiting bodies it is white and compact, while in adults it is soft, spongy. Like all porcini mushrooms, its taste and smell are best in dried mushrooms. Then it becomes very aromatic and intense.

It occurs mainly in deciduous forests, under beeches and oaks, from May to the end of June. But he can also be found in April and July. Most often it grows singly.

Application - very tasty edible mushroom. It is perfect for consumption in all kinds of soups and sauces, for drying and as marinated in vinegar. It can also be frozen or made in a salt brine - this way of storage allows you to feel a bit of summer in the kitchen on winter evenings.
