The hat is very chunky, even young fruiting bodies are firm and large. It can be up to 16 cm in diameter, sometimes larger. White and slightly cream color. Damaged areas turn yellow. The surface of the hat is dry, dull and very smooth.

The flesh is also thick, very firm, white in color, becoming yellow with age. The smell is weak and the taste is unbelievably stinging!
