[EN] This beautiful sea-land crab is called Ocypode Ryderi. He lives mainly on the sandy beaches of the Indian Ocean. This particular individual lives on the island of Zanzibar. There are two individuals in the photos. One of them lives literally next to our hotel deckchair.

[PL] Ten piękny krab morsko-lądowy nazywa się Ocypode Ryderi. Mieszka głownie na piaszczystych plażach Oceanu Indyjskiego.Ten konkretny osobnik zamieszkuje na wyspie Zanzibar. Na zdjęciach są dwa osobniki. Jeden mieszka sobie dosłownie koło naszego leżaka hotelowego.

[EN] All photos show males. They have one overgrown jaw, which they use to fight for the female.

[PL] Wszystkie zdjęcia przedstawiają samce. Posiadają one bowiem przerośniętą jedną szczękę, która służy im do walki o samicę.

[EN]  This species is omnivorous, very resistant to dehydration.

[PL] Ten gatunek jest wszystkożerny, bardzo odporny na odwodnienie.

[EN] I decided to make him a small film session. For this purpose, I set up a camera in front of its cavity, and the zoom was controlled by a telephone. Postanowiłem zrobić mu małą sesję filmową.

[PL] W tym celu przed jego jamą ustawiłem aparat fotograficzny, a sterowanie zoomem odbywało się za pomocą telefonu.
