It is a very unusual mushroom and cannot be confused with any other toadstool species.

Zastosowanie. Grzyb jest niejadalny.

Occurrence. The fungus likes warm places, mainly in beech forests on limestone soils, but also found in forests rich in hornbeams. It appears in July and grows until September.

Występowanie. Grzyb lubi ciepłe miejsca, głównie w lasach bukowych na glebach wapiennych, ale spotykany również w lasach obfitych w graby. Pojawia się w lipcu i rośnie aż do września.
