I decided to go for another walk this weekend to test a new camera I am borrowing. The location I visited is a small forest reserve and environmental education center with stands of both pine and mixed oak forest. Attached are images of various fungal species I encountered over the course of my walk along with my assumptions for what their species IDs may be. Please suggest corrections if you believe I am mistaken!
I also ran across a small snake who was friendly enough to slither right up to me for a close up. Unexpected encounters like these are always the highlights of my time in nature. I hope you enjoy.
