My first errors

My first errors

If you have read the previous blog, you remember that I had won $70 on Coinmarketcap by learning about the Sandbox project.

Then I invested that money in pancakeswap, the number 1 defi at that time. After a while the $70 turned into $200. At that time, I had no experience in money management and much less in the blockchain or what to do with that money.

That’s when my journey towards the “shitcoins” began. I met people on telegram who were in the same situation as me, looking for quick money but with a high risk. I made my first investments in these coins without fundamentals and to tell the truth, I had fun, but at the same time I was afraid of losing money. The one who makes money fast without knowing why, loses it fast. And so it was, I lost a lot of money because of the shitcoins. What happened to those $200? I had $100 left. The experience I take from that time is that I met extraordinary people where we helped each other to look for an investment opportunity.

I remember the names of the shitcoins, as if it had been yesterday. FEG TOKEN, SAFERUN, SAFEJESUS, FETA TOKEN, BUGGS. Many weird names but the important thing was to make money.

One day I had a very bad time when I invested $12 in a shitcoin called SAFEJESUS, and the price of the coin started to rise for no reason and in 5 minutes my $12 were worth $70 but I couldn’t sell because there were many things that I didn’t understand at that time, like the slippage, the wallet fees, etc. At one point the price started to go down and I couldn’t sell because the sale gave me an error. I was very nervous and in the end I was able to sell but without any profit. Very angry, I decided to take the $200 out of the investment in pancakeswap and invest them in another shitcoin to recover those $70 that I could never withdraw. Clearly my head played a very bad trick on me and I made the worst decision. I invested $200 in a shitcoin and lost half of it. I withdrew with $100 and put them in a coin called “Apeswap” that cost $0.92 per coin and without doing any research I invested in it my last $100. A few days later, the Apeswap coin $BANANA, went up to $12 and my $100 investment was worth $1000 but I didn’t sell thinking it would go up more. At that time, my knowledge about the crypto market was nil and the feelings took me where they wanted. A few more days later, I decided to sell when the price of $BANANA dropped from $12 to $6, but I had finally made a good decision. My $100 had turned into $600 and it was a reality. Without having planned it, with study or with information about the project. I withdrew my profits and rested for a while.

The mindset is a very fundamental aspect in the crypto ecosystem. Anything can happen at any time, at any hour.

My first steps in cryptocurrencies
My first steps in cryptocurrencies

Like every human being, when we start to try new things or that take us out of our routine, we can feel uncomfortable. Thanks to a friend, I was able to get interested in looking for information about cryptocurrencies and how they works. At that time, back in 2020. I worked in a computer office as a computer technician and wanted a change in my life. I was tired of keeping schedules and the worst of all, as many would imagine, the salary was not enough and I did not know another way to generate income.
