Going hiking with a group of men I didn’t know…
The twilight of the morning is incredibly gorgeous. And it plunges you into an invisible sense of fascination.
As we drove to the hiking spot, I could feel the dark silence of the dying night, which weighed down like a wall on the body of the sky. Even heavier of the unfamiliar looks of the men sitting next to me in the car, and I was with them because I desperately wanted to go hiking. I wore the best shoes I had and warm clothes because it was really cold in the morning.
Before sunrise we went to a small café and our companions had tea and eggs as breakfast with their other friends, gathered next to a stove. I was feeling extremely out of place. Worse, they spoke another language, and I tried to accompany them with a faint smile. From time to time they remembered that I did not understand their language, so they would feel sorry for me and speak a little Persian. They were reminiscing, their old memories of hiking and mountain climbing.
Finally, we moved to the mountains from there. Other climbers joined us on our long journey. They were all wearing windbreaker jackets and having walking sticks and gears along.
The ground was muddy from the rain of the night before. After an hour of walking, we reached a place from the mountain that was absolutely mud. I wanted to go through it that suddenly my foot got stuck, I tried to pull it out, but the mud was so thick and sticky that it took off my shoe!
I picked my shoe out of the mud and I fell into a corner involuntarily exhausted and feeling frightened!
One of my companions said: It seems that this path is difficult for you! Do you want to go back to the car?
I yelled: “What!? No, I will not return!”
He said: “It is just the beginning! You’ll get tired, girl!”
I insisted: “I won’t go back! I can come!
He gave a sympathetic look at my naïve face. I felt that he was saying out loud what everyone else was thinking of! I firmly repeated: “I will not return! I can come!”
He turned around and said to one of his friends: “She is not wearing proper shoes! give your shoes to her!”
Unbelievably he took off his shoes and gave them to me. A Kind man gave me his walking stick, another took off his scarf, He wrapped one end of the scarf around his hand and gave me the other end of the scarf and said: “Let’s Go!”
