So this whole decentralized idea of crypto-currency, is it really happening.
There was just a fork on DERO which was supposed to make it more decentralized and available to the masses, but it seems the server CPU farms have just sucked it all up for themselves.
So what is this move for?
They say it is to decentralize, but I do not see that happening. What I see is a centralization of accumulation to those who have the resources to retrieve it.
Now, I'm not a Crypto-socialist but if this is the way that the system was supposed to work it seems there is something amiss.
The idea of decentralization is an urban myth. With resources and assets the way they are distributed there is absolutely no way to make a crypto-currency decentralized. It will always be controlled by some center of influence or affluence that is out there.
More or less this is more of the same. Those who have more, get more and those who have less get less(if any depending on their power cost).
Has Crypto fallen into the same manipulative hands as the industrial barons of the early 1900's like Rockefeller, or is there another way?
It seems in this system there is no possible way for decentralization to occur because the means of the few will use it to oppress the many and squeeze out every dollar possible.
Maybe I'm just being over dramatic but this seems like a significant concern. Eventually the hash-power will be controlled by one single user and manipulated towards its own desires and what then will we have to fight back? Nothing.
What I would like to see is a block-chain that is controlled by millions of users, checked and rechecked by each user node, that is randomly assigned an income based on that nodes benefits towards the block-chain. This may not be the most profitable way to mine Crypto but I think it may be the way to decentralization. I think there is a much better way that will allow the common user to ultimately earn a respectable amount regardless of how much hash-power they generate. If they are keeping those with oppressive forces in check they should be compensated.
There are many other benefits to a block-chain than simply proof of work.
At any rate, that's my 2 satoshis What do you think?
