Seltsame Epigramme für zwei Glasharmoniken: II. "... hinter dem beblümten tore ... " [Philip Daniel; 2020]

Second in a series of deeply intimate "strange epigrams" for two glass armonicas, exploiting the ethereal qualities of this instrument. The title, "... hinter dem beblümten tore ...", translating to "behind the flowery gate," quotes a line from Stefan George's poem "Als wir hinter dem beblümten tore" ("As we, behind the flowery gate"). A wispily melodic little miniature, quasi-improvisatory, in a major mode strongly colored by the whole-tone and octatonic scales -- its florid nature perhaps loosely evocative of brightly-colored flowers. The painting in the video is "Cupid Delivering Psyche" by Edward Burne-Jones.
