There can often be a big difference between Wives Tales, Old Sayings, and Wise Old Sayings. Many Wives Tales and Old Sayings may come from superstition, thougtlless words, efforts to manipulate the young, etc..., as well as some founded ideas. Wise Old Sayings, most often hold Wisdom, for those who pay them heed.

I have a particular nugget of guiding light, that i often heard, in my younger years. As time passed by, and I gained experience as well as knowledge, It never fails to provide some Wisdom. It also seems to have faded from culture, and is heard less and less. Never the less, it is Still as Solid Today, as it was then! It simply goes - "Don't Believe Anything You Hear, and Only Half of What You See! It always serves one well to take that into consideration!
