Three generations of Bannon family
Plot: The story centers on the conflicts between principled and responsible patriarch and his son who is has a opposite character.

"Nobody gets of life alive." They wore the cowboy hats, shirts, jeans, cassette players in pockets on shirts, coins were allowed to put on the counter, while a saleswoman behind something arranges. Cool drive with a cynical commenting features of the main character creates the atmosphere of the film as well as pig scramble and singing Clementine in the cinema. Arrogant, proud and uncompromising Paul Newman experienced training before Cool Hand Luke in the role where you can also look at the dark side of the human personality. This role is one of his best. Peaceful American ranch atmosphere of sixties disrupt the sick cow and the possibility of having disease of all herd, where the spectator may see the full expression of opinion and thought setting a responsible, law-abiding grandfather and rebellious son. The camera is properly dynamic, as in the perfect scene after the first hour on the stairs and hallway. The film is interwoven with Hud’s quotes and curt answers. Different characters of father and son are as an angel and devil on shoulders of Hud‘s teenage nephew Lonnie, a grandson of his father, which is exactly in the age forming personalities and ideas, looking for a character to follow. Thanks to an unanswered questions of their old conflicts and creating of new conflicts the spectator is brought into the story, thanks to Lonnie reveals the skeletons in the closet too. Combination of strong characters in one place together with their disunity is the main asset of the film, but the movie examines even the alcoholism, reckless dealings, men's treatment of women and in the end the question of faith.

Conclusion:8/10. The result is a quality western landowning drama with unforgettable scenes in which the spectator can find himself in a few situations similar to his life and fully enjoy their emotional impact. Sometimes I would rather see greater dynamic in the film and less predictability as regards proceedings of characters. The melancholic mood of the film about the disappearance of old values is indeed beautiful, but sometimes a little boring. Captivating intro it is also used at the end and decays in your ears long after finish watching.
