Taylor Swift - a phenomenon of her own

By Kyzerd | Movies et al | 7 Aug 2024

Everyone knows or has heard of Taylor Swift. Most people like and I have not heard of a person not liking her.

Until a few weeks ago I was quite emotionless towards Taylor Swift. Then she came to Europe and started making headlines due to the Eras Tour. I noticed how many shows she has and that every single show has been sold out and impossible to get tickets via Ticketswap. I saw that the large amounts of fans or Swifties. They have an ultra strong bond with each other even if they don't know eachother, all through Taylor Swift and her message. I then started seeing (even if not legal) that there are groups of people streaming the concerts (for people not being able to attend and probably trying to make money). Still I liked it as it gave me an insight in her concerts.

The towns she is appearing are renaming their cities, streets bus and metro stations to Taylor Swift related songs/lyrics etc. The city councils are hoping to make millions or profit through accommodation, restaurants, sales. Everyone is trying to get a piece of the Taylor cake.

But the thing which is always coming are the fans. I saw pictures from Munich, stadium sold, same amount of people outside on a hill close to stadium catching the show and Taylor acknowledges them:)

This woman is amazing all the energy she and her colleagues (the show does not come on its own!) put a n there. She is paid back by happy happy people united by love (and also money of course but I don't think that's her motivation in all of that to be honest).

It fills me with pain the attack on the children in UK attending a Taylor Swift dance class, innocence taken away...and the aftermath that is developing is gut wrenching.

And now 3 concerts cancelled in Vienna due to a suspected presumed terrorist attack one of her concerts....what is wrong with people. One person brings so much joy to so so many people in already tough times and then there are some crazy people hurting and trying to ruin it....for what? There is no absolutely no reasonable explanation!

I am not a Swifty (maybe deep down in my heart) but I admire Taylor Swift as a person, as an artist for what she does and I admire her devoted fans. If I ever get a chance to attend a concert I will take it, it must be an amazing experience. I read that every song she performs brings out an action from the audience there seems to be a whole routine involved. (I do not know any of her songs, maybe caught some on the radio without knowing).

Keep on swifiting in a free world!
