Irish Duolingo

I can speak a number of languages like most Europeans and speak Spanish, English and Dutch at home. I have studied French, Italian and English at University. I have also studied a number of other languages. I have lived in England, Ireland, Holland, Hungary and Spain. I only speak Spanish and some Dutch with my son who is 9 years old.

I speak English, Spanish and Dutch with my partner and 16 year old daughter.
I have studied some Irish in the past but, not for many years. I have now completed the first level of Irish on Duolingo.

I do not currently live in Ireland and unfortunately do not have any contact with Irish speakers. I have wanted to learn Irish for most of my life.
I consider Duolingo more of a game than à language course but, it can be a good tool to use along with formal study.

I decided to give the Duolingo Irish course ago. I have also been watching Irish programmes when I fly. I am a frequent flyer. I fly over 30 times a year.
After completing the first level I can understand some spoken phrases and reconise some words.

I can understand some words when reading Irish.
I have now started level two on the course and I am finding it à lot easiet to understand. But, that does not mean my Irish has improved. It does mean I have got more familiar with the course on Duolingo. I am going to continue watching programmes in Irish and see how I get on.
I will post an update when I have completed the second level of the course.
I use preply for private lessons although for Irish tutors are limited to just two at the moment. If you use my refferal link below you will receive 70% off your first lesson.
I often use itaki it is ideal if you want to take an instant lesson. It is a bit more expensive but, they do have à better sélection of tutors. More Irish tutors are available. If you use my refferal link you will receive $5 of credit when you purchase $20 of credit.
