Some people collect NFTs. Others flip them for a quick profit. Me? I somehow turned two free mints into what is beginning to resemble a small industrial Bitcoin mining operation.
Classic PVM behaviour. Give me a couple of free NFTs and watch me turn it into a full-blown side quest! My HoodMiners journey started through Nucleus!
Naturally, two free mints weren't enough. Before the reveal, I decided to pick up a few more because I wanted to see what kind of traits the collection had hiding under the hood.
The reveal turned into a proper trading session. I jumped into the app, sold the common rigs that didn't interest me, and started picking up batches closer to the floor price.
My main target was multipliers. I went shopping, moved a few NFTs around, and eventually added an Ultra Rare rig to my collection.
Then came the first epoch, and things got interesting. I claimed approximately $90 in BTC from the first week of rewards!
Of course, there is a catch. Activating a rig requires burning 20,000 $MINR, so getting the machines operational comes with an additional cost.
I'm still in the trenches! Then came another little surprise. I managed to pick up an Epic NFT at floor price, complete with a beautiful Robinhood-green background.
On paper, it looked fantastic. Epic rarity, a stunning background, and a rig that stood out from the crowd. There was just one problem: its multiplier was only 1x.
Activating it purely for the cosmetics didn't make financial sense to me. Fortunately, the market offered an opportunity to turn a $5.80 purchase into roughly $40!
Sometimes you don't need to marry the JPEG. Sometimes you just shake hands, pocket the difference, and walk away.
They say money doesn't grow on trees. Apparently, it can hide inside HoodMiner NFTs. I swept the floor and up 10 rigs! Eight of them had unclaimed rewards!
Paid $30, recovered $8, so my net cost was just $22 for 10 miners. That's roughly a 27% cashback discount before even talking about the mining power.
Not quite financial freedom, but a decent start for someone who entered through a couple of free mints! Weekly rewards are nice even if $BTC was changed to $MINR!
The best part is that the rigs are still in my wallet, and the machines can continue accumulating rewards as long as the mining mechanics and conditions remain in place.
Of course, rewards aren't guaranteed to remain at the same level, NFT floors can move in either direction, and activation costs need to be factored into the equation.
I'm keeping an eye on the numbers instead of counting imaginary profits. I bought some more when the floor price went under $2 for tactical reasons!
I am now 10th in the rig power leaderboard and got some WL for free mints! The rigs keep giving! Four epochs gone and I claimed $156 in $BTC and $MINR so far
I plan to keep the useful rigs, monitor the rewards, and let these little machines do their thing. I'm not finished experimenting yet. Mindshare campaigns are here!

Meanwhile I merged, merged again, and kept merging until my top miner reached 117.26× power and climbed to 7th place by rarity! More power concentrated in one beast.
Buy smart, check those unclaimed rewards, and squeeze every bit of value out of the assets you already own. Can you flex a rig with orange Bitcoin background? I can!
