Short Story Challenge - Day 9

Short Story Challenge - Day 9

As I promised, this month I will do another writing challenge, this time the focus will be on storytelling, and I will try to immortalize a fragment of life, a short story about something that made me wonder, being that an idea or a peek into a stranger's life. Enjoy!

Trains, mains, and not so many plains (15.11.2022)

-Do you like trains? the kid across my seat asked me.

-Of course, I like trains, I always like them. Well, they used to be more luxurious, and provide really good food and entertainment, some time ago. Now most of them are grey and sun-bleached. They do not care about trains anymore.

-But this train, this train is magic, isn't it?

-It is Harry Poter train after all, so it should be. Just a little spark from a long lost time.

As we leave Fort William, the little one is stuck to the windows, and he is lost in awe, watching those majestic Scottish mountains. I cannot wait to see his reaction when we are on the viaduct.
