Welcome back fellow Publish0x goers. It's Tuesday, which means time for a medical cannabis grow blog update! I have to admit this entry might not be as good as I had hoped. Not a ton has happened so far, since it's only been a week since transplant. This favors well for me, since I need to relax and rest. I have somehow injured my back, and have no idea how. On the bright side, I believe it's just a strained muscle, and I was able to pick up some medicine from the dispensary to help with the pain.
Now I would like to start out with some additions/changes I have for this run in the grow tent. Besides the cultivars (plant types, a.k.a. strains) that I changed, I will be changing or adding new nutrient and supplements.
I will still be using molasses to my watering on occasion, because it can provide nutrient and minerals for the plants and soil. The kind I used previously was an organic edible grade molasses granules. I ate some with foods and teas and it was very tasty, though not as intense of a molasses taste or smell, compared to black strap molasses. It did dissolve into water and work very well for watering.
First soil amendment is something I found that is OMRI rated for organic gardening. A blend of compost, biochar, and mycorrhizal fungi. I'm personally just adding a light layer or about half the bag to the top of the soil. I added some in on Sunday, and watered it in. I added the rest today, and will water it in tomorrow (Wednesday) since that is a normal regular schedule water day.

Next amendment is the new type "Dry Molasses" that I thought I would try out. Sadly, it doesn't completely dissolve. Which tells me it's not just molasses , there is still some sort of plant material remaining in the product. This has it's ups and downs. The plus side, being that the plant material poured into the soil will just mulch down and add more nutrients to the soil and plants. The down side to this, is that you can't water with any type of sprayer. It will just end up getting clogged unless you filter out the plant material. Which will add time to your watering, and just seems like extra steps. So I will have to make sure to water with something that doesn't spray.

These first pictures are after I first mixed in a little of the compost, but before watering it in. As you can see I have removed a few of the leaves that were closer to death than life. This helped clear up light to come into other new growth areas of the plant. As you can see the plant on the left (Assorted Chocolates) has turned greener on top. This is a great sign that the plant is taking root, and starting new growth on the plant. The plant on the right (Goldust) has less change than the Assorted Chocolates. It's taking longer to establish, but it is showing sign of new growth in the tops. Another week and both plants should be in full swing for vegetative growth.

The next two pictures of of the Assorted Chocolates.

Now for the Goldust. As you can see the leaves are still showing nutrient deficiencies, and doesn't show much in the new growth department. The tops show promise though it's hard to tell by the pictures. The next update should show much better establishment and new leaves. This plant was more root bound, and older than the Assorted Chocolates, which is from seed.

To finish I'll show a picture of a top layer of the compost, before I water them in the morning. Another thing some of you might have notices, is the grass and other things that have started to grow in the soil. That is some of the cover crop I spread in the soil. The cover crop is beneficial and helps with soil health and some are Nitrogen fixers, which is great for cannabis plants, because they love it. I will spread the rest of the compost on top in a week or two. I don't want to over load them while still establishing themselves.

Well that's a wrap for today folks. Chapter three of this gardening and blogging journey has come to an end. Though not a lot of change yet. There soon will be. I hope everyone else is excited as I am.
Until next time. Peace, love, and understanding.
