Plants are officially established, but not quite lavish.

Welcome back Publish0x readers. This is the fourth installment of my medical cannabis grow and blogging journey. Todays update is definitely more exciting than the last one. Much more growth and new things, since the plants and cover crop have started to establish themselves.

Now let's dive down into it...

The last update we were in a limbo like stage of the grow process. The plants have now moved through the stage where the roots of the plants have officially established themselves into the soil. I know this is based on the new growth of the plants and the colors of the leaves. The leaves are becoming a nice darker green, showing proper intake of nutrients. The lighter green is normal in new growth, that one can see toward the tops of branches.

I seemed to forget to mention which cover crop I'm using for this grow. It's a local mix from the Oregon Willamette Valley. I figured that makes the most sense, because it's more local flora and fauna . I believe using local flora and fauna for your cover crops is ideal, because they are already use to this specific climate and global location. Albeit, I'm growing in a tent indoors which isn't the same as growing in the Oregon outdoor climate, I will still use this cover crop mix. It does however seem to be flourishing in the tent, so I can't really complain at all.

As we can see, the foliage of the plants is significantly greener, and new growth on both plants is definitely showing. This is all around great news because it means the soil is very healthy and well stocked with nutrients for the plants to grow.

Goldust; I have never tried this cultivar before, whether it be growing or ingesting in some way or another. It took a little longer to establish itself compared to the Assorted Chocolates. I believe this is due to the clone being older than the seed, and also being more root bound in the pot it was in before transplanting. Being older is also a reason that it's taller than the Assorted Chocolates. Despite this, Goldust has showed good potential for a lot new growth. I will probably try to take clones of this cultivar in two weeks. That way if I do enjoy the finished product I can re-run it in my tent or outside if I like.

Assorted Chocolates: Now that this cultivar is established, it is taking off! I truly hope this ends up being a female, so I can finish and flower it. Ill probably try to take clones after another two weeks of vegetative growth. I'll then put the clones into 48 hours of darkness. This usually shocks the clones enough to show their sex, and I can decide whether or not they are male or female. I might keep a male for breeding purposes if it has characteristics I like. I'll also have to send a picture of it to the breeder, to see if they can help me narrow down what Chocolate Kush cross, this Assorted Chocolate seed might be.

P.S. -  I apologize about this being posted almost a week late. I had thought I posted it already, when I actually hadn't finished it at all. Shit happens.

P.P.S - The fifth update will be posted on schedule. I apologize about the delay for those following the journey.

Medical Cannabis Grow Blog

This blog will follow my journey of growing medical cannabis for myself. I currently live in a state (Oregon) where medical cannabis (OMMP) and recreational cannabis is legal. I will try to do at least a weekly update on my grow. Currently I am growing in a slightly less than 2' x slightly less than 3' tent. When the weather permits, I will have plants growing outside in my garden.
