The price of Binance Coin (BNB) just shot up to an all-time high of over USD 1 300. But what is behind this move? Can it be sustained? At the time of this writing the coin had given back some of that gain and is trading at USD 1 285, according to Coinmarketcap.com.
There have been a few good news around BNB lately:
- Use as treasury asset: BNB is now being held in corporate treasuries just like bitcoin and top altcoins before it. While the number of companies holding BNB as treasury, just two, pale in comparison to those keeping bitcoin (121) it is a sign that traditional corporate finance is taking this coin seriously.
- Real-world data integration: BNB chain has now integrated US financial data into its blockchain thru Chainlink. This is the key factor of the movement in price in the last few days. Developers will now be able to design applications that take into account trusted US economic data. It may take a while to see widespread use of these capabilities, but it will most likely happen in the BNB Chain first.
- Increased usage: Transactions in the BSC chain require BNB for payment of network fees. The volume of transactions in the chain has increased over six times that at the beginning of the year. This shows the chain has gained the public’s trust, and is seen as an impartial trading space, safe from the current geopolitical considerations.
These factors all appear very positive for BNB. It seems the boost in the value of the assets has something to back it. One may expect that BNB with its strong fundamentals is a good solid investment.
Now, as always, I must remind you that this work should not be considered financial advice. These are just my observations.
