I have recently had the opportunity to interview many a students for a media internship.

As mentioned, 90 percent of the students had nothing to do with their studies and media training.

Still others were willing to give up the job they were looking for for this training.

When I asked the reason, they said that this is my passion and dream. But at home we studied a different course in undergrad because our parents told us to.

Not interested in it now.

So they said we are traveling towards our dream. Interestingly all are above 24 years of age.

Now it is their dream to know and study, learn skills and after that go to their favorite job. Can you recover the lost time till the age of 24?

Can't  parents sit down with their children when they are in class 10th or intermediary and ask them what they like and what subjects they are interested in. Just speak up and don't force a course on your children just because you like it, because your parents told you to, or because you didn't get the chance.

Out of fear of you or out of respect, they leave your bachelor's degree.

But after that they feel guilty that they are not able to study their favorite subject and they get bored with life or work. That boredom refuses to learn anything new. At some point they get annoyed with themselves.

This has a huge impact on decision-making at a young age. It creates emptiness in subsequent stages and leads to a state of comparison.

To avoid all this, children can be used to make decisions in their lives from an early age.

• Just because we are parents doesn't mean we are 100 percent right. Get used to accepting the decisions of grown children.
• The generation gap which used to be 30 years earlier is now 5 years. So parents should be updated along with children.
• Children will dare to take risks and develop themselves if they get the education of their choice. What parents have to do then is to stand by the children's decisions even if 4 people talk in 4 ways.
• It is good to bring up the problems at home from a young age and keep insisting that only if you study well you can study your favorite course.
• If your children want to live a good life after the age of 30, they should join their favorite studies at the age of 20 and their favorite job at the age of 27. If the foundation is strong then any problem can be overcome.
• Always stand firmly on the side of children in decisions related to studies and work, parents. That is the greatest favor you can do for them.

This is one of the finest ways to be happy and with positive health.
