LEMNISCATA: Introduction. Stop at the Entrance.

Introduction

In the beginning was the Word. From the Author.

Stop at the entrance. Freeze for a moment.

This book is not a house with walls, but an echo of infinity, inscribed upon the sands of time by an ancient, cold-blooded hand, before the ancestors of humanity were even born.

Be careful. Do not turn the pages in vain. For it was brought into being through paths that not everyone is destined to walk. Those are not well-trodden roads and pathways, but thorny and stinging briars, through whose thorns breathes a new dawn, pouring through the seals of five lands separated by tens of thousands of kilometers.

The book is steeped in winds and frost, rains and scorching sun, whispers and cries, the cracking of the universe and the ancient chaos of the interworld. Nursed by pain and despair, forged by patience, churned by bits of steel — it gazes at you now through these lines and waits.

Will you open it? Will you turn the page?

Do not rush!

Everyone who opens it plunges their hand into the flow of another mind. Remember the ancient rule of the well in a lifeless desert: you may drink the moisture if your cup is empty and clean, but if you have come to steal the water itself or carry away a stone from the bottom — you will take away a heaviness that will drag you down with a fierce, wild force and a speed unknown to you before.

The "Old Man" is patient; he always bides his time, feeding on the weaknesses of others. Close the book this very moment if there is even the slightest sin in your soul.

The scorching heat of envy, pride, vanity or a thieving glance, the stigma of avarice, craftiness of thought or a covetous intent.

"Lemniscata" is a sealed, hermetic vessel. Its patterns, oneiric scenarios, foreign inversions, and lines are inseparable from the hand that drew them and passed them into the manifested world.

He, however, who attempts to fragmentarily appropriate these meanings, titles, or tear away images strange and alien to his mind, which do not belong to him — being subject to the aforementioned flaws of the spirit — will resemble a blind man who steals someone else's clothes: the form will remain upon him, but it will not warm his body in the frost, nor will it cool him in the raging inferno.

You will try the shirt on, but it will prove too small.

For:

"Any fool can know. The point is to understand." — Albert Einstein.

"Never confuse education with intelligence, you can have a doctorate and still be an idiot." — Richard Feynman.

The Alien, the Other — an unvented tension hidden between the lines of the manuscript — will begin to imperceptibly consume the internal resource of the unprepared blind man.

At first insidiously and slowly, then building up and accelerating the pace, leaving only an empty shell outside of space.

The mechanism of this mirror is simple: what is taken without right returns to the source, reclaiming the potential of the one who took it. The digital lock on this contour is fastened at the hour when the old dies away and the new is just being born — at 00:00.

If you are ready for contemplation and pure metaphorical analysis, the first volume will become to you like the shining of the sun on a cloudy day. And it will fling open its doors with all the generosity of the hospitable "Old Man."

But if your intention is even in the slightest fraction parasitic — close this book this very moment. Do not touch that whose depth is capable of swallowing your own shadow.

The threshold is marked. The price is high.

Enter in peace, or leave in peace.
