I never listen to playlists or the radio when I'm working.
I usually do one of three things. I either put an episode of Top Gear or the Grand Tour on, or I go on YouTube and watch crypto videos, or videos about watches, or technology, or podcasts, or whatever I find interesting.
Obviously, when I say I 'watch', what I actually mean is I'm listening to it while doing other things. Because I need to look at the laptop screen for my work.
Option three is I pick a song from my favourite artist(s) and listen to it all day. Literally all day. If I pick, say, Hladno Leto by Relja (which is what I've done today), it's that song till 5 PM when I clock off.
I don't know why I do it, but I have a theory.
Either I listen to the same song or I listen to different songs, but if I listen to different songs then it leads to two options.
I either A, have to choose song after song or B, I just listen to whatever the playlist suggests.
Thing is, with option B, there's a risk I might end up listening to songs I don't like - or I'm not in the mood far.
With option A, it's the Zuckerberg / Jobs syndrome. You know how they say they always wear the same clothes because they don't want to waste mental energy thinking about what to wear?
I always thought it was bull*hit, but maybe it's the same for me and music.
Picking song after song means I have to stop doing whatever I was doing and focus on the song I would like to listen to next.
And misquoting just about any rapper whose music I might listen to (all day) tomorrow:
"DON'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR DAT"
