I just read a couple of comments that made me think.

Let's start with this: we live in a world that's 100 percent connected, 100 percent of the time.

If the internet ended, tomorrow, for whatever reason, we'd all be doomed. If you're reading this, you're definitely doomed.

This is a crypto-based and crypto-focused website, so I'm assuming we all have crypto. If the internet ended tomorrow, our money would be gone with it.

Is this ideal? Maybe not. Probably not.

But it doesn't matter, not because it's great, but because it's real. Ignoring reality is a really bad idea.

Because the only thing worse than somebody who doesn't realise this is indeed a little worrying, is somebody thinking they can somehow 'outsmart' the system.

We're all connected. Our info is out there. Our data is out there.

How many people do you know who never - and I mean never, literally not even once - used a smartphone?

How many people do you know who never - and I mean never, literally not even once - subscribed to any social network. 

I don't mean they signed up and then deleted because that's exactly the same as using it every day. Exactly the same.

There's one universal truth about the internet: if you put it on the internet, it'll always be there. The fact you can find it doesn't mean it's no longer there.

I understand people who find it scary that we freely put our data and location and preferences and hobbies and money in the hands of the Zuckerbergs or the Musks or the Bezos or whoever of the world.

I genuinely understand the concern.

But get real. This is our world. And I learnt a very long time ago that nothing gets in trouble in faster than pretending you're living in a different reality than the one you're actually living in.
