Watching both of the Democratic Party debates last month I realized that the diversity of those candidates on the debate stage is a great thing - for those who oppose identity politics.

Let me give a little background here. In 2016 I remember overhearing a woman in a public place talking to one of her friends about who to support in the Democratic Primary. One seemed to be a Bernie supporter, and the other a Hillary supporter. The Hillary supporter said something like "you know, I think it's just time for a woman president!". Her friend, who was also a woman, clearly recognized this as a rather foolish reason to back a candidate. After an awkward pause to take in the sheer stupidity of giving gender as your main reason to support a candidate, the friend said "um...Well...I just feel like there are other things to consider that are more important".
So here's my point - the fact that the stage is so diverse will help dilute the stupidity of people like the single-issue (gender) voter I mentioned above. In this election she might vote for Warren, Harris, Tulsi, Gillibrand, or that crazy Williamson woman. The votes of those who vote on ID-pol on race will also be diluted between Booker, Castro, and Harris, and to a lesser degree Yang and Tulsi.
How are the SJWs going to pick between multiple women and multiple black candidates? They might *gasp* have to be issue based voters rather than just voting based on identity!
Some people might point out that there is only one LGBT candidate - Buttigieg. However, to his credit, he does't seem to be running too much on identity. There are plenty of pictures with him and his husband, but that mostly seems to be the media emphasizing his sexuality. Also, for the most radical SJWs out there, he is still a cis white male, so he probably wouldn't be their first choice. If you look at SJW circles you can find plenty of them who criticize gay white men for generally not being woke enough.
Lastly, there are a few members of religious minorities, but they are all wise enough not to run on identity. Tulsi is a Hindu, and of course Bernie is Jewish. I have to respect that fact that neither of them run on their identities, but rather on the issues. Tulsi Gabbard in particular is a religious minority and a woman of color, yet still runs on the issues.
This leaves the SJWs stuck picking between multiple candidates from multiple minority groups. Most of them don't particularly like Tulsi, even though she is the most "diverse" candidate, and most of them don't like Bernie because he focuses on the issues, especially economic issues. I think the Democratic Primary and the Democratic Party are going to be way better off as the ID-pol vote gets split about five to seven different ways. Hopefully this time they wont be united enough to seriously impact the results, and we can get a candidate who is focused on the issues. Even if you hate the Democratic Party, it's better for America, and the world, to have fewer ID-pol focused candidates.

ps. This article isn't trying to say that we should *never* focus on how particular groups are actually being discriminated against, just that voting purely on superficial identities is stupid, and when people who think that way vote as a block bad things tend to happen.
