Deceptive Marketing: A 2026 TechCrunch investigation revealed that Freecash used deceptive marketing techniques and third-party affiliates to nudge users into spending money in games, leading to its removal from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store after TikTok flagged its ads for financial misrepresentation.

Freecash app scammed users and the App Store for months before removalAn app called Freecash promised to pay users for scrolling through TikTok, and got by App Store review despite really tricking them to play paid games while also harvesting sensitive personal data to sell. It appears that through a combination of advertising and allegedly false reviews, Freecash climbed the charts. Then based on that apparently legitimate success, more people tried it and its popularity grew organically. 🌐

A data harvesting app called Freecash appears to have tricked users as it quickly rose to the top charts on the App Store and Google Play, where it sat for months until a recent ban.

If you’ve been on TikTok this year, you’ve more than likely encountered ads for Freecash. The app has been marketed as a way to make money just by scrolling TikTok — and jumped to the top of the app stores in recent months, peaking at the No. 2 position in the U.S. App Store.

In truth, Freecash pays users to play mobile games  all the while collecting a heaping amount of sensitive data, according to cybersecurity company Malwarebytes.

A Malwarebytes report notes that the app may collect information about users’ race, religion, sex life, sexual orientation, health, and other biometrics, adding that the app is essentially a data broker looking to match game developers with users who are willing to install and spend money on mobile games. freecash is a scam don t waste your time they don t pay you and in addition want to sell your data the positive reviews are certainly redirected invited from their site from a reward program they are not actual and they are some promotions like a person called mikes not a bad person in my opinion and others worst a part of unpaid money goes to these promotions additional noone knows who is owning this site is an indian or a german woman it is in us germany curacao who knows i want to ask from the companies to don t give work to this site is defamation to charge back the unpaid amounts and the trustpilot to search it actual rating for freescam you can find on https://www.trustpilot.com/review/freecash.online i dare you to try it yourself i can provide more infomations big companies like vodaphone teleckom or advertisement companies or others should in my opinion avoid to relate their names with these scams the surveys are also an advertisement an information s source i want more people to tell what happens to help others thanks trustpilot didn t post my review you can have your own conclusions for trustpilot freecash relations thanks

Freecash.online and freecash.com are linked domains, both pointing to the same
platform. This raises concerns when their Trustpilot profiles show drastically
different ratings.

Trustpilot reviews, especially for platforms like Freecash, can be unreliable. Trustpilot
allows companies to invite customers to leave reviews, often through incentives or direct
outreach. This has led to widespread manipulation, where businesses encourage only
satisfied users (or even employees and affiliates) to post glowing reviews, artificially
inflating their ratings. In the case of Freecash, many of the positive Trustpilot reviews
appear to come from users who were likely rewarded or prompted by the platform itself,
which undermines the credibility of the feedback.

Freecash heavily promotes rewards for leaving positive feedback
including on Trustpilot, Google Play, and social media. This creates a distorted
image of satisfaction. Almost all 5-star reviews are from users who were paid or
rewarded to post them, which invalidates their credibility.

That's not just frustrating it's a systemic manipulation tactic used by some affiliate
marketers and review sites (like DollarSprout, budget diet, etc.) who earn commissions
when people sign up through their links. These sites often publish glowing reviews without disclosing, they're paid affiliates, remove or ignore negative comments from real users, use outdated or fabricated screenshots to make earnings look easy, never follow up on long-term issues like bans or failed payouts.

In the beggining they don t ask any verification you let do
tasks and when you want to withdraw this is one of the
excuses not always there were old players 3 ,4 or more
years with no verification when they asked for this they
disappeared you can t answer sensitive questions like
what you vote for erotic life and others with your name in
this scam platform it was obvious that are greed and
wanted to sell your data they knew themselves that they
are not trustworthy noone wanted to be verified by them or
believed their privacy policy so they bring a supposed third
party called veriff but even with verification many players
didn t paid and they gave their data freecash kept their
money also companies pay salary for verified surveys they
had many unreasonable charge backs the most games don
t credit anything i played a game one month many hours i
completed the tasks and didn t credit anything you could
finish a survey and didn t paid some people put their
money for some tasks a big mistake they didn t take
anything a wheel and some other rewards were super
scam the players they had a different picture for their
promoters it is usual to don t paid i had 60 usd after 3
months i didn t paid they froze my account i could play to
earn for them i couldn t withdraw or say anything in the
chat don t let big amounts you don t take anything the
earnings wasn t as high as they were saying the owner had
ared account which wrote the owner of freecash i think he
had earned after 4 to 5 years around 1800 usd other old
players from poland certainly and germany had in the
same period 4 to 5 years of playing around 1800 to 2000

usd and not all of them there some players from usa which
seem to had earn more in a few days around 3000 usd for
example and they were awarded but this was fake they
were the same i mean i login after 3 months and they were
the same names with the same amounts and the same
days in platform the only player i saw with 3000 usd was
an american which had put from his own money and they
steal from him his earnings as he wrote in the chat and for
last i remember a player so frustrated that he cursed the
freecash owners to catch their wives with their neighboors

this is a clear misuse of aml/kyc protocols no real verification was requested prior to the
transaction yet now they are using these claims to withhold funds indefinitely this raises
serious questions about the legality and ethics of their operations

Verification required although it's not just ID it's Verif, a third-party system that demands government-issued
ID, facial scans, and personal data.

Why?

Because now you're not just a user you're a verified identity with monetizable data.
Even if they never pay you, your documents are now in their ecosystem, potentially
shared with advertisers, affiliates, or data brokers.

The platform depends on plausible deniability  but the moment you try to cash out, they
demand full accountability from you, while offering none in return.

it is a system engineered to exploit hope time and trust

There are many promoters who delete the actual reviews.

kaiesh vohra  an indian was the founder initially when the platform was good but later almedia took over so Freecash is owned by Almedia UG, a German-registered company co-led by Moritz Hollander, but it operates under offshore legal protection (Curacao) to avoid strict EU
consumer and data laws. This setup is not illegal by itself  but it's classic for platforms that want to collect user data, delay or deny payouts, avoid transparency, disappear or rebrand if pressure grows.
