From labour rights to financial freedom: A new perspective

Dear Friends,

In the long and great struggle for labor rights...
And the communist movements that gave the first voice...
And the greatness that gave us the legal authority in India...

For a long time, our society has portrayed the act of spending money—and the desire for it—as a moral failing.

Among generations preceding Gen Z, there is a widespread tendency to view a simple lifestyle, devoid of monetary expenditure, as a virtue and a badge of honor.

There is a strong inclination to label an interest in money as an "elite mentality."

Phrases such as "Money can't buy everything" are often used, in various contexts, primarily to console those who are economically disadvantaged.

Another regressive notion is the belief that one should not discuss their salary in public. Some even go so far as to characterize it as a strictly private matter.

We must understand the dynamics of money and how it transforms into lived experiences. For instance, let me share how I prioritize money and the perspective I hold toward it:

• Money ➔ Quality Food / Shelter ➔ Physical Health

• Money ➔ Family / Friendship / Social Needs ➔ A Sense of Meaning in Life

• Money ➔ Travel ➔ The Accumulation of Knowledge

• Money ➔ Time ➔ Spiritual Fulfillment & Emotional Well-being
(Most importantly, money equates to "time." It grants us the freedom required to learn a new art form, cultivate a specific skill, or simply spend our leisure time doing what brings us joy. It is this freedom that provides true satisfaction to the soul.)

• Money ➔ Material Objects ➔ Sensory Engagement & Enrichment
(Money serves as a bridge, enabling us to acquire the objects necessary to aesthetically shape our surroundings and to enrich our five senses. Having an inclination toward material goods is not a sin; indeed, being materialistic—or engaging in conscious consumption—is not a transgression.)

• Money ➔ Savings ➔ A Sense of Security

This constitutes my personal list of priorities. This order of precedence may, of course, vary for each individual. Even the specific priorities mentioned here may vary from person to person. Saving money is, in essence, a form of "mental hygiene." If one's mental energy is entirely consumed by the anxiety of securing the next meal, there remains no room for creativity or for extending compassion toward others.

Let us think together!
Let us travel together!

Somehow... let the anti-capitalist reaction that is trying to move the country towards 9 to 12 hour workdays and low wages gain momentum!
