It was termed as Oscars of Crypto by Coinmarketcap website.
Starting from this year, this would be conducted on an annual basis.
This award is being conducted to bring all the crypto enthusiasts, projects, products, developers and the industry people to come together in a common platform. The voting from the people through the website was started till March 1, 2024- March 3, 2024 in the following eight categories.
- Crypto of the Year
- Meme Coin of the Year
- Most Innovative NFT and Gaming Project
- Bridge Builder of the Year
- Social Influencer to watch
- Most Innovative Defi
- Crypto Leader of the Year
- Most Innovative L1/L2 Cross Chain Project
As mentioned, the winners were declared in the awarding ceremony by today (March 6, 2024) which was streamed in the Youtube today at 2PM UTC time.

1. Most Innovative Defi:
Under this category, the nominees were 1. Blur.io 2. Pudgy Penguins. 3. Bend DAO. 4. Big Time. 5. Immutable.
And the winner is: Pudgy Penguins
2. Most Innovative L1/L2 Cross Chain Project
Under this category, the nominees were 1. Arbitrum 2. Axelar. 3. zKSync. 4. Celestia 5. Aptos
And the winner is: Celestia
3. Crypto Leaders of the Year
1. Vitalik Buterin 2. Ryan Selkis 3. Brian Armstrong 4. CZ 5. Julia Leung

The nominees were: 1. XRP 2. Solana 3. Chainlink 4. ETH 5. Toncoin. Interestingly BTC was not in the list. The presenters of the event said that BTC will will every event and if BTC wins everyone win.
The winner is: Solana.
During the event, Rush, CEO of Coinmarket cap shared his experience of crypto-space in the year 2023. Asked his outlook for 2024, he said that a thorough research is needed on every crypto projects and to analyse the fundamentals. In an other question, he said that cryptos are inevitable in the days to come.
During the event, Raoul Pal, CEO of Real Vison-US has also spoken. This event has overall brought a 360* rewind the overall crypto eco-system and everyone to plan further in 2024.
Looking forward the 2nd edition of the crypto awards by next year in 2025.
