Been thinking about Bing rewards vs Brave on iOS

I've been thinking about rewards one can earn on iOS, Get Paid To (GPT) such as Swagbucks have a presence on iOS in multiple forms and through them one can work towards real cash. Bing Rewards is a (fine enough) search engine that pays users in points that can be redeemed for gift cards. There are many other direct options one can use an app for to earn rewards or cash, and these are all worth noting because I find I'm behind the times when it comes to getting back into Brave, as the mobile browser does not pay out BAT for use.

The cited reasons, cannot tip content creators without going through Apple's payment platform (seems mainly so Apple can get their cut) seems plausible to manage to implement, it is merely the (notable) loss of a feature. The second one makes no sense though, as noted above Swagbucks operates a number of apps with the only purpose being to generate points that can be redeemed for currency. Again, Bing rewards (I'm fond of using it to skim the daily news, something like a penny per click until I reach my daily limit adds up).

It begs the question as to why one rewards (Brave's BAT) is singled out, while so many others are not. Is it that others are points? Seems unlikely, given how directly those points on Swagbucks can be redeemed for cash via PayPal. Other areas come to mind though, one being that Apple doesn't want to support cryptocurrency on their platform, but given the number of other apps that directly work with crypto for buying/selling/trading, etc this seems implausible as well. Some have suggested that Apple wants their cut for payments to content creators, and while I could see this angle swinging things one way or another for them, it doesn't strike me as the most likely. No, for my money I would peg it as Apple being Apple, and giving bare minimum support to allow other web browsers onto their platform and to function so as to avoid legal concerns, and this is just Apple using their leverage so as to slow the traction of Brave on iOS.

Just some late morning thoughts I figured I would try and shake, as I'm slowly working on my passive earnings while raising my first infant. Looking ahead, I'm hoping that the Brave community finds a way forward to be allowed to reinstate the feature as I fail to see how it harms Apple any more than the alternative ways to generate income already allowed on their platforms.
