Loki, is a cryptocurrency, built on Monero. The project, has created a new kind of node, called, service node. A service node, allows users, to transmit and receive data packets, anonymously. Each service node, acts as a relay, and participates, in a Sybil resistant network, with properties similar to TOR and I2P. The project, uses ring signatures, inherited from Monero, stealth addresses and RingCT. Block rewards, are split in Loki. The 45%, goes to the mining node, that constructs the block. The 50%, goes to the service node, or two service nodes. They are rewarded, based on time, since they received, the previous reward. The last 5%, goes for governance operations.
The first service launched will be the messenger service. It will be an end to end encrypted. There is a different function, when both users are on line, or not. If they are on line, a direct path is created, otherwise, the message is propagated, to the node, the serves the receiver. There are service node applications, that allow marketplaces, forums, and other applications, that developers can create.
The Loki foundation is a non-profit organization registered in Australia. The company, has no stakeholders, or beneficiaries and the governing board, has time limited seats. To make proposals, any party should create a proposal transaction. These, are contained in funding blocks, and the tokens associated, with the transaction, are burnt. Every 60 days, a funding block, is created. To create a funding block, the service node's votes are calculated.
