With the push to normalize a transgender student's ability to compete in college and high school sports in under the gender they have chosen to identify with, will this create a slippery slope resulting in the end of women in sports?
When a male that chooses to identify as female and is allowed to compete in the female league they often dominate the competition, even if by all accounts their performance in the male league was mediocre at best. We have seen this in a number of sports already from wrestling to boxing and even track and field.
"Selina Soule was one of the top 5 female high school sprinters in Connecticut… until competing against biological boys changed the game. Now, women aren't just losing their races - they're losing their chances to compete at all."
As shown in: https://www.prageru.com/video/is-this-the-end-of-womens-sports/ - a video created by PragerU [1].
What about the reverse case where a female chooses to become a male and under goes "hormone treatment" aka "steroid therapy treatment" but remains competing in the female league.
This was the case for the 2 time Texas high school state champion female wrestler, Mack Beggs. Juiced up on "steroid therapy treatment," Beggs had a 32-0 record prior to winning the second state championship match in 2018 [2].
Compete against juiced up females on steroids or men who identify as females. Both situations stir up debates between the competitive fairness in sports and transgender rights, while the ones taking the true loss are biological female athletes.
