What They Don't Tell You About Bitcoin

By johnwege | johnwege | 2 Mar 2025

When it comes to Bitcoin; we are all told the same things. That Bitcoin is on a mission to change the world. To replace gold as a store of value. Then setting its sights on the US dollar; attempting to become the new world reserve currency. If Bitcoin is anywhere near being successful in this mission; its price will soar to astronomical levels. Causing one of the largest transfers of wealth the world has ever seen. Something that could cause the world to change into a place of those who have Bitcoin, and those who don’t. These are all things that we are told about Bitcoin, but there are many things that they don’t tell you.

Something they don’t tell you is that after you fall down the Bitcoin rabbit hole, there is no turning back. Before you got into Bitcoin your life was probably much simpler and more peaceful. You went to work, watched your favorite sports team, went out with friends, spent time with family, and pursued your hobbies and interests. In retrospect, we were all so innocent and naive.

But now that you’re deep into Bitcoin, you're eyes have been opened up to how the world really works. How governments are largely corrupt. How your wealth is being inflated away rapidly every year. How most people aren’t planning for the future or have little to no savings. The thought of retiring for these people will become more impossible by the year. Governments, people, and the entire world are becoming deeper and deeper in debt. This debt bubble is about to burst. The wealth game appears to be rigged and it's difficult for anyone to get ahead. While this all seems incredibly dark and bleak. Thankfully for us, there is a solution to these problems. Bitcoin fixes this.

However, look to your left and look to your right. The odds are that most of your family, friends, and co-workers aren’t significantly invested in Bitcoin, or not at all. This means dark times could be ahead.

As Bitcoiners, we are deeply aware of this situation on a daily basis. One of the most lonely things in life is being extremely early to something, or being the only person that knows an important secret. But, that is the life that we must live as Bitcoiners.

When Bitcoin’s price is dropping, our peers will look at us as the crazy ones. They’ll think we are foolish for being fans of something that they view as crazy internet money. With the recent FTX fraud and insolvencies in the market. They will look at us with disgust for supporting a market that is supposedly only for criminals. When the news or governments come out with regulations against Bitcoin or crypto. They’ll cheer and be happy that the government is protecting them from this dangerous market.

They’ll do all of this without knowing that their situation is only becoming worse. That they’re being isolated from the only asset that could save them from what is coming.

Throughout this whole process, Bitcoiners will be there waiting and watching. We will try to warn them and show them the benefits that Bitcoin could bring to their lives. With it being decentralized, trustless, and the hardest form of money. Something that can’t be seized. How we are still early and that prices will soar even higher. That their lives could be changed financially forever.

However, as always our pleas and warnings will fall on deaf ears and no one will want to listen to us. This is something that we are very used to in the Bitcoin market.

First, we were told that Bitcoin would never be worth anything. But then it was. Then we were told it was used only by criminals, but then it wasn’t. Then we were told it would never see corporate adoption, but then companies like Microstrategy and Tesla bought it. But surely countries would never adopt it, but then El Salvador made it legal tender. Finally, we are being told that El Salvador is only a small country and it being legal tender there isn’t significant. But, we all know what will happen next.

What they don’t tell you about Bitcoin is that the journey from the start to the finish line can be a very lonely place. You’ll be the outsider, people will think your weird and they won’t listen to you. You’ll be tested mentally as you’ve never been tested before. But as Bitcoiners, we know that we are in the right. Ultimately, everyone will wish they had been investing in Bitcoin just like us. But they’ll never admit it until it’s too late.
