I woke up a few days ago feeling very different. I do not know if it is spring on the horizon or something else, but I feel like a fog has lifted from my brain. I really wish I knew exactly what changed, but I would like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, because all the glory and credit goes to Him. For everything, including the very tough times. Some may not see a point in this post, but to others, they will know exactly what I am typing on about. Additionally, sorry about the disjointed nature of this post, but I am not typing out a book at this point. I probably will, but now is not the time.
As I see it, everything we go through in life is by design, or maybe allowance, but we go through it to develop certain characteristics within us. A brief example would be some of what I deal with at work. I was raised as a yes please, thank you, sir and ma'am type of dude. I do really try to extend basic common courtesy to everyone, but people can be very rude. I generally do not like rude people and I definitely do not like myself when I am rude. Hey, all of us have triggers, but I am working on it because rude is not a characteristic that I would like to present or be presented with. So, what I mean is that eliminating a personal negative characteristic can be the result of going through some tough times.
I was born with two distinct advantages. First, I have good parents that really love their children. Certainly not perfect, but very good parents. Also, I was raised in a family that did not have much money. Don't get the wrong impression, as I was by no means destitute, but we lived a comfortable lower to middle, middle class life in the United States' of America. Overall, not a bad upbringing at all. I even had the first Air Jordan's, the black, red and white ones. To be honest, I still like those shoes today, not as much as the Chuck Taylors, but they're top-middle shelf.
The biggest difference I can tell is that I do not even care about politics anymore. I got political and tried to follow as much as I could, but I would always get frustrated when votes went against my thinking or the so called party-line. Literally, almost over night, I believe we need to make room in the United States' political spectrum for more than two options.
So, then we have all this money flowing into really only two viable options for the majority of these races. To me, that would be too much money flowing into those two parties. What does money primarily attract? Yep, corruption. The money may do some very good things, but it can also enable a vast amount of corruption. I do not hate many things, but I really hate corruption.
Corruption gets in the way of a politician doing their primary job, which is to serve We the People. Here I go again getting controversial. I can't help but look at the abortion statistics and see that abortion disproportionately affects the minority population. Is that not racist? So why are people, in droves, supporting a position that literally goes against We the People? Add in all the money that flows in the Democratic Party, which advocates for more abortions, and the corruption flows like sap from a maple.
You know, there used to be a significant portion of Democrats that were against abortion. What happened to them? Why do all Democrats think abortion is a good practice? Hmm. Hmmer. Hmmest.
Are Republicans any better? Well, I could go on and on about the party that I used to be with. I am no longer a Republican. I now consider myself to be a Christian Libertarian. A party without much money. Good luck with that though because the TV, radio and internet ads and programming, really affect brains all over the world.
I have also begun taking classes that teach the United States' Constitution. How awesome it is to learn about that living, breathing document that guarantees Us Our God-given rights. Our founding fathers were absolute geniuses. I cannot thank God enough that I was born in a country that has a signed document that is an awesome contract between We the People and the governing group.
Switching gears, I made a reference to John the Baptist in an earlier post. That post mentioned the Biblical reference to John's diet. Translational issues aside, that part of the post was designed to highlight that John lived his life unconventionally, but he was the man that baptized Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John found the narrow way that Jesus talked about and his life was lived differently than most people. We can do that as well, living life in an unconventional fashion may be what God calls us to do. If unconventional living was for John the Baptist, well, so can it be for me. I have fallen out of love with money, which is the root of all kinds of evil.
One other quick thing to note is that I am not apart of any group, organization, or affiliation. When I say We, I mean We the People. I do not mean Christians, hackers, Nazis, crypto lovers, Republicans, Demagogue-o-crats, etc. I mean We the People, the group of people that own and cannot give away their God-given rights via the United States Constitution. I love the United States of America, I love old glory, I love freedom and the amount of People that love this country and are showing it is growing exponentially. It is awesome to be with God-fearing and America-loving people that stand on our God-given rights. We are We the People!
