Hey folks, if you’re a $MATIC-maxi like me, then you may have already heard about the scramble that’s taking place for some people to obtain all the Polygon Degen NFTs on Galxe. Similar to the Optimism quests I wrote about months ago, these quests consist of a variety of tasks on various Polygon-centric protocols/platforms which when all completed, will allow the user to get 26 different NFTs. Like many of the ones on Optimism, the majority of quests are fairly easy to complete, and they involve simple staking, swapping, or bridging assets over to Polygon via the respective protocol. For instance, the Uniswap NFT simply requires swap $20 dollars worth of swaps and some twitter actions:

Personally I haven’t gotten all of them yet, but I was able to mint several in just a few minutes. You’ll also notice in the graphic above that the claimable period ends at the end of March, which means that if you want to try to get all of them, you’ll need to get started soon as some of them require staking your crypto on platforms for at least a few weeks.
Are these tied in with any airdrops or incentives?
As far as I know, the general answer is no. However, some of these badges do have tied-in incentives of their own from the respective protocol. Quickswap for example has a $2500 reward pool for those that are able to deposit $250 worth of LP tokens:
Conclusion (is this going to be worth my time?)
For some people, this probably isn’t worth the time and effort, but it is nice to see campaigns like this that highlight some of the awesome protocols on Polygon and their respective features. I would also argue that some of these NFTs literally only take seconds to get, so really….why not?
I’ve been using Polygon for quite some time now, but personally I was a bit surprised about how many of the different protocols I didn’t know. Additionally even if I’ve heard of some of the protocols before, I definitely learned some new things — like Apeswap, which I had no clue was on Polygon (I thought they were only on BSC). And lastly, having been a victim of crypto-scams in the past, going through the quests also made me feel a bit more trustful to the protocols that were involved, almost as if the badges were not really for tasks accomplished, but instead sort of like a seal of Polygon’s approval.
Regardless, free NFTs are always cool, and it’s really fun to see Polygon come out with something like this, especially since its brother L2s Arbitrum and Optimism have already done the same.
