The man in the white hoodie, carrying an injured person through the blood-soaked streets of Iran during the protests, is named Hamid Mahdavi.
He was a young firefighter from Mashhad—a kind-hearted, funny guy who ran an Instagram page about firefighters.

Through humorous videos, he shared the hardships and struggles Iranian firefighters face every day, trying to bring a smile and some light to their tough world.
According to eyewitnesses, on February 6, 2026 (18 Dey 1404), amid the chaos of the nationwide uprising, Hamid rushed into the streets—not on duty, but driven by his conscience. He lifted the wounded one by one onto his shoulders, carried them away from danger, and saved lives with nothing but courage and his bare hands.

Until, in one of those acts of rescue, a bullet fired by the Islamic Republic’s forces struck his neck and took his life. Hamid Mahdavi was more than a firefighter. He became a living symbol of humanity that refuses to die even in the darkest nights—someone who fought for others to live, even when it cost him everything. Eternal be the name of Hamid Mahdavi, the selfless firefighter and proud son of this land. May his memory burn bright forever, and may his path find many followers.
