Binance No Longer Allowing US Customers- The Implications
As the cryptocurrency market recovers, Binance, the largest online cryptocurrency exchange will close it's doors to American customers. Americans make up only 15% of the volume on Binance daily.
I have fond memories of trading on Binance, and love it's UX. Many coins are only tradeable on Binance, and the loss of this exchange could strangle their liquidity. Expect for Binance to restrict trading in July for Americans.
Coinbase, Bittrex, Robinhood and other smaller exchanges will eagerly pick up the slack in daily trading volume. Bitcoin reacted negatively initially to the news, but is back above $9,500 and rising currently.
I am trading cryptocurrency fee free on Robinhood. I trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin and Ethereum Classic using the platform and never pay a fee. The downside is that you don't own the coins and cannot take them offsite. I also use Abra, an exchange with a similar functionality that runs off of Bitcoin's blockchain.
