Aargh! I am so sick of people being incompetent and not doing their jobs, of actually being surprised when people not only do what they're required to but go above and beyond to be helpful, to the point that I feel compelled to thank them personally.
Today was going well until the cellphone company with whom I cancelled my contract over a year ago sent debt collectors after me over it. They need to get their shit together and stop bothering people whom have no desire for further dealings with their incompetence. It really is the network that's "everywhere you go" (because you can't get away from them and their crap despite your best efforts).
I think I know what happened on the fateful days (yes, more than one of them) I went in to their local branch to terminate my contract and settle my account: I was so annoyed with the shoddy service I received that I didn't think straight enough to insist on dealing with the only person capable of doing her job and getting issues resolved. After that shaky start, things went down hill from there. Clearly, their finance department didn't pick up the final payment to them from me (despite the fact that it's an atypical amount from my monthly cost/payment). It's no wonder, though, since there are no line items or descriptions whatsoever on the payment receipts. (I have two of them to prove it, since I keep almost all of the paperwork relating to what comes into or goes out of my bank accounts. I do have a sneaking suspicion that, because I expected further shit from the company, the last receipt sat on my desk for months before accidentally being thrown away. Having spent at least half of my day rifling through hard copy of old documents in search of the elusive proof of payment, I'm not entirely certain I've found that for which I'm looking. I'm going to have to check my old bank statements and email correspondence with so-called Customer Support to be sure I've covered all bases.) It's not like you'd want anyone to have a cooking clue for WTF is actually being paid now, would you? No, of course not; that would make life far too convenient and easy for all concerned, especially the paying customer (whom, technically, should have stopped being one long ago and certainly ceased to have any desire to be one when making the payment that was supposed to terminate the contract and be final). FFS, Ally! Here we go again, for yet another round of IDK how many (and I'm sure this won't be the last time unless I actually get some sort of "cease and desist"/injunction filed against them by a hotshot legal eagle lawyer type, which I should have done in the first place and it just might have ended up costing me about the same as all the money I've paid to MTN already and they're demanding) ...
The failsauce is strong with this one! It's really too bad, too, because I used to think they were great. (Otherwise, I wouldn't have entered into a contract with them in the first place.)
