When The Smoke Settles... Part Two

When The Smoke Settles... Part Two

In just about a week from now, El Salvador will officially make Bitcoin legal tender and the first native Bitcoin ATM is already in place. Chivo is the name of the ATMs and it seems that citizens willing to buy Bitcoin via the ATM, or why not sell it since they're airdropped $30 worth of BTC each, will have all the support they need to do that.

Mass adoption for crypto doesn't stop at El Salvador's borders and it didn't commence there either, another piece of news worth paying attention to is Cuba's Central Bank Moving to Legalizing Use of Cryptocurrencies. What do both have in common?

They're at the mercy of the US, Cuba being under tough embargo from the US, since the era of Donald Trump, leading to 400 Western Union locations being closed in 2020, that were operating tons of remittances every year, while El Salvador doesn't even have its own currency, it uses the US dollar...

You see, these countries need Bitcoin and they'll do anything to circumvent the heavy feet of the US on their necks. There have been a couple of headlines lately regarding so called protests in El Salvador against Bukele's law to make Bitcoin legal tender, but those are probably political shit. We literally need Bitcoin, El Salvador and Cuba probably needs it more than us.

Meanwhile Budweiser and VISA are buying "shitty NFTs" for tons of cash, what do they know... Sure, you can make tons of money with NFTs, if lucky or smart enough, but that's a crypto stream I'm not too excited about. I see value in NFTs as digital property and we will probably have a music artist launching a single in the form of an NFT, with absolutely no record label contract stranded to it, sooner than later, but I don't see much value in NFTs in their current forms.

The crypto space is no heaven on earth, it's a mix of realities expanding at an exponential rate and some are more exciting than others. I am old school and the best crypto mass adoption "I'm praying for" is to have such currencies world wide used as payment forms. I would love for example to be able to travel to Greece or Spain and pay for my expenses with HIVE or USDT, or whatever... you got the point.

If you've made good money flipping JPGs, in the form of NFTs, well good for you, but lets not loose the core purpose of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency out of sight. Those insanely valued JPGs are mere white smoke in the crypto mass adoption process. Part of the revolution though...

Thanks for attention,
Adrian
