The Power of The Internet

The Power of The Internet

I still remember how hard it was for me to explain to some old uncle of mine, about twenty years ago, what internet is, how it works, why it has the ability to change the world and what's bad about it. I don't know how well I managed to do that back then, but I still remember that my uncle forecasted at that time that this thing called internet will change the world...

... and that Saddam Hussein will be killed, "by the Americans". I don't know if Saddam was actually killed by the Americans, but I sure know the internet has gone big since then. It's somehow like the water now, you almost can't have a life without it.

The internet can be shut down in an instant like it happens in Kazakhstan now where officialities have ordered internet companies to "switch it off", making it hard for protesters to communicate to each other and for "the alternative media" to broadcast. Some websites/online communities have the ability to censor, like twitter and youtube does and that's the reverse of the internet medal.

Dr. Robert Malone, who studied mRna vaccines and was quite vocal on the internet in regards to vaccines and mandates around these, has been silenced by the two biggest social media platforms, youtube and twitter and a few days ago it was hosted by Joe Rogan in one of his podcasts, which turned out to be watched by 50 million people all around the world, where the two tackled some of these controversial topics.

It seems that this specific interview has been taken down by youtube and that only underlines "the power of the internet" more. I know, *the video as been taken down", but that doesn't mean these people are just gonna stop and lean towards the lords of the traditional social medias.

At least not someone like Joe Rogan, who stated recently that he is confident in the future of Bitcoin. Why would someone like Joe Rogan be confident about Bitcoin? Because he is the type that questions narratives, puts embarrassing questions, asks for proof and looks for practicality.

Joe Rogan is not your typical anchorman and this type of people are mostly attracted towards Bitcoin, decentralization, DAOs, WEB3, alternative sources, etc

The internet can be shut down, proof of that is Kazakhstan, but do the powers in charge have enough incentives to "keep it down" on an indefinite time? No... Because most of the businesses and systems that are keeping the world running "are powered by internet".

That making internet powerful enough and open for all at the same time. We've come at a point where humanity is facing probably the biggest segregation process in long time and I'm not referring here just to covid. It feels like two worlds are emerging and somehow both need internet.

On one hand we have the fiat world with its manipulated media, social medias, garbage music industry and so on and on the other we have the Bitcoin world, with WEB3, alternative medias, DAOs and all this stuff that empowers its users and provides the necessary tools for making life better for its users.

The legacy system will fall, it's just a matter of when not if and when that will happen, it's when everything we've been building on blockchain for the past few years is going to exponentially grow in user base and acceptance. The signs are already here, just that some are too busy to read them.

The world as we know it will be whole lot different in ten years from now. Same as in the situation with explaining the internet to my uncle, I don't have a projector to show anyone how the world is going to look like in ten years from now, but I believe it's going to be massively transformed and most of that transformation is going to happen thanks to the power of the internet.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and see you to the next post.

Thanks for attention,
Adrian
