February 2021, I guess the eight day of the month, will mark my three years celebration for my activity as a blogger... Wait, what are you really a blogger? Yes I am, and I joined Steemit with the mindset of becoming a damn good one and a fulfilled social media creator. The Romanian peasant wanted an escape of the mundane and he somehow got it. With small exceptions I've been posting almost daily on the chain and most of my posts are blog posts, although I have a small share of shitposts as well and highly encourage shit posting once in a while.
Almost three years ago I had a goal, of making my written words mean something and give my time spent online some value. To some extent I came quite close to fulfilling these goals. Haven't got to score that $1,000 post that @edicted was mentioning about a few days back, recalling the good old days of Steemit, but I am earning crypto on a daily basis, I am educating myself and investing my time in the online environment the best I can.
I've been thinking lately, while realizing that I live on savings for almost a month or more, if I will ever achieve that glorious goal of making a living out of blogging, and I'm not yet yet there... quite far from it I would say, as my HIVE stats and Publish0x rewards track show. My blogs are to be seen on the Hive blockchain(leofinance and hive.blog/peakd) and Publish0x and haven't set myself a niche yet, probably never will. It's mostly life stories/lessons, crypto/finance and photography.
Looking at the month of October on the LEO provided HIVE stats, my earnings for this month, with just one day away from stepping into November, are... 502 HIVE and 346 LEO all totaling $57. That's one cheap pair of sneakers right:)). But it's not something to simply overlook. Considering that I haven't been too active the first half of the month I can say that I could have got close to $80 from my blogging on HIVE.
Now moving to Publish0x, my second layer blogging page, where I actually cross post most of my Hive posts, the record shows that for the month of October I earned 34.6 BAT, 40 LRC and 0.0566 ETH which total an almost $34 at the current market prices. Again, not too active the whole month, but since I posted mostly crypto and finance related posts on LEO, and cross posted to Publish0X, I got much more exposure than previously and became more active, as Publish0x is kind of similar with leofinance in terms of blogging topics.
Drawing the line of success for the month of October I am sitting on almost 90 bucks with my blogging activity. Peanuts money I know, but my gut feeling tells me that I should not sell a dime from these cryptos and keep on taking out of the piggy bank, as the markets have way better perspectives in the months to come than they currently have. I expect HIVE to get to 20 cents again, LEO to at least pass the 50 cents mark, BAT to at least get back to its already achieved 42 cents and ETH to be somewhere around $500. Hence hodling for two more months or so makes sense for me.
Meanwhile I will keep on collecting internet money and hopefully get close to making a living out of blogging by the beginning of the next year. My life style is quite frugal and that shouldn't be a hard to achieve task once we start ridding the bull according to the halving plan. I also hope that the deflation after the ATHs won't be as severe as the 2018-2019 one and my blogging activity would allow me to sustain my living further. If not... back to work boy. I do have a goal tough, a three years old one and I will accomplish it.
Thanks for attention,
Adrian
