It's amazing that after over 10 years since Bitcoin is in existence, there are still quite a few individuals around the world comparing it with gold, some that are aware of the fundamentals of Bitcoin and some that are "simple plebs" who don't even have a clue about what blockchain technology and Bitcoin is.
90% of the assets of the S%P 500 are intangible. They've gone from 17% back in 1975 to 90% in 2020. Sooner than later most of our so called stores of value and the way we will be expressing and caring around value will be intangible. The internet is intangible and we're gradually being immerged in "an internet soup".
Recently I had a conversation with a friend of mine, on legacies and what would hold value over decades. He is into gold, he believes that nothing ever will replace gold as a store of value and he doesn't see much value in whatever is intangible.
He has a three years old daughter and he says that ever since she got born he has been buying some amount of gold for her every year and he plans on handing her that gold(in the form of jewels) when she will be 18. What a nonsense, I said to myself... To some extent I understand him, because he's not that much into tech and he hasn't bothered to do a bit of research on Bitcoin.
I am not going to say that Bitcoin is the best store of value, I don't know how the world will be 10 years from now, Ethereum will probably play that role(the best store of value), Cardano or Hive, but what I know for sure is that the future is clearly digital. Hence investing in related types of assets seems the best option imo.
A whole new universe is being born in the roam of the internet and its name seems to be the Metaverse. "The interweaving" of the tangible with the intangible is imminent and many of our mundane activities will either be conducted solely in the digital world, or will somehow be connected within this metaverse. What point would gold have 15 years from now in the middle of such a reality?
It will simply be just a metal on the surface of this planet. I still remember quite vividly my college years when I was searching for a job and I was still sending resumes via a FAX machine. Then I got into sending them via e-mails and I got a jot, but I was still accessing internet occasionally, trough a laptop or PC and that wasn't mobile at all.
Now, I can't even imagine a life without internet and most of my living is provided by the internet and blockchain technology, thus how can I see any future in stacking gold?...
Despite all sort of crackdowns on crypto and other ways of the elites trying to stop this financial and spiritual revolution, crypto is a wildfire that's inevitable and impossible to stop. It will prepare the soil for better harvesting and many of our belief values will be radically changed.
Look at what Tesla's done with the car industry... It hasn't destroyed it or radically changed it, but it has incentivized progress and development coming from other car companies. Gold will have pretty much the same value as fossil fuels, in about two decades or so from now. The shift is already to be spotted in the S&P 500 percentage of tangible assets, thus...
It's "intangible values" what I'm focusing upon. I own not one single gram of gold and will never do that. My fortune in the real world is quite frugal, but planning on creating myself a quite consistent one in the digital world.
Thanks for attention,
Adrian
