The NFT bubble hasn't popped yet and doesn't seem to be doing so any time soon. NFTs have often been compared with ICOs from the 2017 era, but the comparison is futile imo, although speculation is part of the game in the case of NFTs as well as it was with ICOs.
Another bored ape has been sold for millions in ETH, considered a super rare one. Justin Bieber has bought his own one and using it as his twitter profile picture as well and I'd say usability is what sets NFTs apart from ICOs.
I have not owned any NFT yet, the ones that I will get from Ragnarok will be my first ones and I truly consider these bored apes a waste of money, but nevertheless I'm not overlooking the value this tech is bringing to the space.
Folks like Eminem and Justin Bieber who bought themselves bored apes and using them as twitter profile pics are doing that because there's a trend, because they want to be among the first ones using this tech, not particularly because they believe in the core principles behind it.
NFTs are probably the purest form of ownership we will be able to have in the online worlds that are in the process of being created. These(the NFTs) are going to be somehow our identities and gate openers in the future metaverses.
The era of simply using easily downloadable pics as profile pics and the era of printing money like the FED does is probably coming to an end. Blockchain technology offers the chance to individuals and communities to print their own money and to create their own governance systems.
No external power can interfere with the governance we have on Hive same as there won't be two persons being able to use the same NFT as a twitter profile pic.
I forgot where I read this, but at some point the access to a vehicle might be granted by the use of such a NFT. The bored apes might keep their insane value over time, or not, but the concept is here to stay and the ones comparing NFTs with ICOs are truly missing the point.
Same goes for the IMF trying to convince El Salvador to ditch Bitcoin. It is too late...
Thanks for attention,
Adrian
