Midas.investments first caught my attention about a month ago. I was intrigued by its promises of insanely high returns on investment. Though I had up to that point already had several months' experience with a crypto financial service that paid me interest on my deposit, the rates being touted by midas were miles beyond what I was receiving and far above what I had seen on offer from other platforms on the market. That said, I was also a bit skeptical but the initial impression I got from the ad and a few minutes checking out the platform and its wiki were enough to get me to sign up. But I was still reluctant to put down any deposit.
Then I got an email the next day. Midas was offering an airdrop. All participants would receive a substantial amount of MIDAS tokens each day for tens total. MIDAS tokens were worth about $2 USD each at that time, and the functions they played within the Midas platform made them very desirable for anyone using it. MIDAS can be staked to minimize fees or even eliminate them entirely. MIDAS can also be "burnt," a process that decreases the total amount of MIDAS tokens in circulation thereby increasing the value of the MIDAS token with the added bonus of making every user who "burns" MIDAS automatically receive a passive income stream of MIDAS and airdrops of other tokens in perpetuity, So far, so good.
But there was a catch. In order to participate, Midas users had to invest 0.03 BTC into one of their two latest offerings. To clarify, on December 10, 2020, 0.03 BTC was $540 USD. After thinking about it very briefly, my curiosity and optimism won out over any fear of loss or mistrust. Trustpilot had given Midas.investments a favorable rating, and the reviews seemed to be legitimate so I decided to invest the 0.03 BTC.
So was it worth it?
On December 11, 2020, my investment of 0.03 BTC arrived onto the platform. To my pleasant surprise, this was only a few hours after I had initiated the transaction. My months using Blockfi had conditioned me to expect the process to take up to half a week. Because my crypto had arrived on the 11th I received airdrops of MIDAS for nine out of the ten days of the campaign. If only I had invested one day earlier!
By the 20th of December, when the airdrops were over, I had received about $136 USD worth of MIDAS. In the same time, my initial investment of $540 USD had grown to over $700 USD, buoyed in large part by the energy of the bull run. As of the writing of this article (January 1, 2021), my modest portfolio has surpassed $1100 USD. More than doubling my initial investment in less than a month with almost no effort, I think I can safely say that this was a wise financial decision.

But you don't have to take my word for it. If this article has piqued your curiosity, head on over to Midas.investments and try it out for yourself!
I have only scratched the surface of this project in this article, and I am looking forward to many exciting things to come from the Midas team. So stay tuned for more updates!
