Subfertility ~(Unable to conceive a baby)

We have seen many marriages being divorced the most important reason behind is.. "Unable to Conceive a baby".

So, yes this situation occurs, but it is not only female who could be the main cause, but male too...

Here I am giving superficial intro about this topic, so that everyone can understand it...

The subfertility is defined as unable to conceive a baby after unprotected sexual intercourse for 12 months.

In normal healthy Couple chances of conceiving a baby are 20 to 30% during the first menstrual period.

This can take six months to one year to conceive.

But after it if  couple fails to conceive they must consult the doctor.

A doctor will look for the following causes .

Age

it is the most important factor, with the female of 36 to 40, she will be having low quality and quantity of Eggs.

Male with age near or above 50 have low Quality and quantity of sperms.

Intercourse

it also plays an important role as those who have three times a week have three times greater chance to conceive a baby but intercourse at an alternative day is more efficient for conceiving a baby.

When to intercourse

it is also important if intercourse occurs when eggs are ready then it increases the chances of conceiving.

Smoking has a strong effect on the quality and quantity of sperms and eggs, this means smoking reduces the chances of conceiving.

Body mass index

it is the proportion of body mass to body weight, those with higher BMI that is greater than 30 to 35 are at risk, and those with the lowest BMI that is below 18 are at risk too.

Stress

No doubt stress decreases the libido (desire to intercourse) that results in a decreased frequency of intercourse and ultimately decreases chances of conceiving.

male and female will be further examined like..

For female there may be a pelvic inflammatory disease, a trauma to Tube, or any kind of Mass and like fibroids that is causing decrease infertility.

For male check whether he has normal sperm-producing cells, or there is inflammation in any part of this,

Doctor will be looking for the epididymis that stores the mature sperm and if it is inflamed,  it could be the cause of subfertility.

Is he diabetic or has he been exposed to chemicals?

If everything is okay then he could be checked for erectile dysfunction that is an ejaculation problem.

It can be treated, by treating exact cause, and avoiding risk factors.
