Growing Our Own Post 16

The weather in Ireland very quickly goes from one extreme to another, it is unbearably hot 🥵️

The corn is growing strong.

Loads of pods ready for picking again.

It's important to pick the pods when they're ready so more pods grow in their place.

The caterpillars have gotten fat.

But that isn't surprising, seeing the amount of cabbage they've eaten.

Some pumpkins already starting to form.

More marigolds flowered.

I pulled up an onion, it's pretty big, but I still don't think it was ready, it didn't have much skin on it. I reckon the onion bulbs weren't put into the earth deep enough because the onions aren't ready but are coming up out of the soil. From now on I'm going to stop listening to other people and follow books and professionals because we have got bad advice a few times.

I'm just after realising you can see the top of one of the carrots in this photo.

Baby potatoes, they are a bit green though, we probably should have thrown some compost over them, but we didn't have any with us.

The courgettes are forming.
