CORN STARCH,BANANA AND BAMBOO FIBERS TO REVOLUTIONIZE SANITARY PADS AND DIAPERS INTO ORGANIC

It is evident of how plastic has become a great threat to the future as we know it. Plastic has been paramount in making the menstrual sanitary pads and pampers well known to the mainstream. It should be noted that round 50% of the world’s population menstruates. The average woman uses approximately 11,000 disposable pads  or tampons in her lifetime, which results in around 300 pounds of feminine hygiene related waste per woman.

Thanks to women movement spearheaded in the direction of sustainability that they have come with a great initiative to find solution to replace these the pads we know to organic natural biodegradable pads that are made from natural components as compared to those made from plastic. To us this is a great positively impacting disrupting project that benefits both the environment and human health as well as improving the livelihood of people who produce the materials used in making them since around the world there are many producers of such materials and the only effort needed to implement is to motivate farmers to produce these materials in the most organic way to avoid synthetic residues found in those that are ground using synthetic farming inputs that might be dangerous to the products made from to the final consumers. Sparkle has collaborated with local farmers from various parts of the world and other key stakeholders that allow them to procure a regular supply of banana fiber and other raw materials and similar technology and raw materials can be used to manufacture the world’s first baby diaper made from banana fiber, bamboo fiber and corn starch as well

Sparkle as a feminist founded initiative has pioneered the world's first all-natural sanitary napkin made with a combination of bamboo fiber, banana fiber, and corn starch that can biodegrade around 6 months after disposal. With sustainable and plastic-free products, Sparkle aims to reduce plastic pollution and support a circular economy.  It is a shame that the the existing laws in various countries around the globe do not allow to disclose what many known sanitary pads are made from. With this initiative, they pride themselves to disclose what their invention is made of.

With these new sanitary pads, the user is not worried about the dangerous chemicals, plastic used, and artificial fragrances. Indeed this is really so groundbreaking in terms of promoting health living in females. This is the first step to reduce risks of cervical infections and complications that are derived from using pads that are made from synthetic materials.
