What we know as behavior is developed by the foundation called Habits.
Things those are done regularly, daily or even sometime can be termed as reflexes which are pattern of consistently repeated actions or thoughts are Habits.
Like waking up early or late, taking a shower, drinking coffee in the morning, driving, sitting in a specific posture or at a certain position all examples of habits.

So why we do it? What is the benefit?
Consider the example of RAM in Computer as it uses memory to do functions what if the RAM is consuming its power and capacity for trivial or standard activities; definitely, it will result in more processing or less memory or space available for other tasks. The same done by our brain in an effort to save mental capacity and increasing efficiency. The part of brain that store the habits is Basal Ganglia.
Thing about something that you started to learn like riding, driving, skiing, skating, tennis, judo or any sport. At first, it seems like impossible but with time and practice your mind and body adopts and store it. Initially all the focus is on action and activity and sometime you cannot even focus on your instructor or partner but with adapting it as a habit your mind automatically knows what to do and then you are talking or explaining things to others while doing it.
