Coffee is one of the preferred beverages in the world, I know it is consumed in huge quantities especially as an early morning pick me up. My country, Honduras, is a big producer and exporter of coffee exporting somewhere around 8,000,000 one hundred pound sacks a year, in fact Honduras is the fifth largest coffee producer in the world.
And in fact coffee is universally consumed in Honduras, it is the first thing most people drink in the morning and they continue with this all day, I know some people who drink five or six cups of coffee every day. We have a custom here which is the siesta, an afternoon nap, when people wake up from this nap they will have coffee with some sort of sweet bread, and that is the only way they feel really awake.
I for my part am not a coffee fan, when I was a kid I used to like coffee with milk along with bread with butter which I would dip into the coffee, my Dad put a stop to that. So I grew up and just permanently kicked coffee out of my life, I just have an occasional cup every once in a while. The last time I had it which was a few weeks ago I scalded my tongue, so that makes me even less of a fan.
