Bitcoin Being Bought for $24,000.00 in Iran?

Yes this news became viral in the cryptosphere after the assassaination of General Soleimani by a drone attack in Iraq. The idea was that rich Iranians were hedging their bets and putting there money in Bitcoin, the fastest way to make sure they would not lose everything if war were to break out.

Now if war were to break out over this incident I am quite sure that crypto will see a surge in price, a scenario I really wouldn't want, yes I want the price of crypto to surge but I am not in favor of risking the world in order to have that wish. War is just plain stupid and nobody ever wins in a war.

But anyway about the Iranian news of Bitcoin at $24,000.00, I have done some searching and came upon an article on Forbes that adaamntly says that this is not so (the article is "no-bitcoin-isnt-going-for-anywhere-near-24000-in-iran-heres-why Forbes magazine). This article implies that what happens in a country like Iran is that the official rates of exchange are one thing reality is another and due to this disparity outside people thought that what BTC was being bought for was much more than the reality.

Yes, all countries that have some trouble or are expecting it will have people of means willing to pay premiums for obtaining hard currency, gold or yes, crypto, but not at such huge differences. So even though I can not certify that Forbes information is entirely accurate I tend to believe it is true.
