Haun Ventures led the round with additional participation from Seed Club, Coinbase Ventures, Sina Habibian, Balaji Srinivasan, Credibly Neutral, Packy McCormick, Tim Beiko, Dan Romero, Eva Beylin, Will Price, Liam Horne and Hasu, among other investors.
Agora provides an end-to-end governance protocol for decentralized communities, including tools like voting and gas proposals, security councils, proposal sponsorship, APIs, snapshot integration, transaction simulation, and speech deployment. According to the company’s website, Optimism, Nouns, ENS, and Uniswap all use the platform.
“In short, we’re flipping the narrative on the effectiveness of collectively governed protocols by building a new standard for governance tools — from governor contracts to voting apps and more,” Agora says.
Agora was founded in 2022 by Charlie Feng, Kent Fenwick, and Yitong Zhang, who previously helped design the Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange app.
Baxus, an alcohol trading platform that authenticates ownership and trades on the blockchain, also recently raised $5 million in a Seed round led by Multicoin Capital. Solana Ventures, FJ Labs and Narwhal Ventures also participated in the round, the company said.
