Wallflower

By emily2u | From the Heart | 15 May 2021

Filling my dark room with music,
Have switched off the light.
But I’m not sick,
It’s only a Saturday night.

Thinking about life, lying in bed,
The only noise is from the radio.
If a party is going on, what is said?
Will there be dancing on the patio?

To spend tonight, this is not the way,
Unfortunately, can’t have it undone.
My only companion is the DJ,
From him I can get a little fun.

Over this I’ve no power,
That’s what I’ve been told.
I’m worse than a wallflower,
Whom no one wants to hold.
