Known you since you were seven.
In your company, nothing will enliven.
You were an ugly duckling;
Didn’t laugh at a good joke,
Had a gloomy outlook,
Which caused you ill feeling.
You altered your perspective,
When parents became less protective.
On key issues, you began to decide,
Started utilizing your imagination;
Possessed an ambition ---
Things at last had a bright side.
You’re no longer woeful,
Undoubtedly more cheerful.
The opportunity to appreciate
The finer things in life,
Made you more alive;
Joy and misery, you can differentiate.
